Celebrating the Launch of the Deposit Return Scheme with Envipco’s Innovative RVM Technology

Dublin, 1st February 2024 – Today marks a significant day in Ireland’s journey towards a more sustainable future. The much-awaited Deposit Return Scheme (DRS), operated by Re-turn Ireland, is officially launching, and Envipco is at the forefront, playing a pivotal role in easing the process for retailers. This initiative is not just about promoting recycling; it’s about transforming our daily habits for the betterment of our environment.

Understanding the Deposit Return Scheme
Under the new DRS, every time you buy a drink in a plastic bottle, aluminium, or steel can featuring the Re-turn logo, you pay a small deposit in addition to the price of the drink. This deposit is fully refundable when you return your empty, undamaged drink container to participating shops and supermarkets.

What Can You Return?
•    Material: Plastic bottles, Aluminium, and Steel cans.
•    Capacity: 150ml – 3L.
•    Refund: 15c refund for 150ml – 500ml containers  and 25c refund for over 150ml- 3L containers
Not Included in the DRS:
•    Glass drinks containers.
•    All dairy products, e.g., Milk, Yogurt drinks.
