Plastic ban: LASG defends sales of packing bags in malls
The Lagos State Government has defended the sales of packing bags in some malls in the state.
The PUNCH reports that some residents have complained of sales of packing bags in some malls, following the ban on single-use plastics in the state.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment, Olawale Rotimi-Akodu, in a recent interview with our correspondent, said the sale of packing bags or packaging materials in malls is also a practice in advanced countries.
He emphasised the drive of Lagos State to meet up with the standard of a modern city.
